Armchair
An armchair is a synonym for rest and comfort. It’s the place where you want to sit down, make yourself a coffee or tea, and dive into the story of a book or the traps of a crossword puzzle. There are countless types of armchairs, and everyone prefers a slightly different style, size and appearance.
The production of an armchair involves not only woodworking, but also the art of upholstery. A properly designed structure provides the armchair — and therefore the person — with the support they need. An armchair should not press anywhere, and no support elements should be felt. Upholstery takes care of the rest. The right choice of fabric or leather should be resistant to everyday wear, but above all pleasant to the touch. The thickness and firmness of the cushions determine whether the armchair is ideal for relaxed lounging or for reading.
We produce armchairs in a wide range of styles. We specialise in modern design supplied by our customers’ architects and designers, and we then refine the concept to deliver a solution that not only looks exceptional, but functions perfectly.
During our research into armchair-making techniques, we studied and examined many pieces — some that were several centuries old. This taught us that although the basic concept of an armchair hasn’t changed much over time, the quality and precision of the construction and the connection of its elements are absolutely crucial.
We have progressed to the point where we now make replicas of armchairs found in castles, for example. Monarchs always had extremely high demands on their seating furniture, and their craftsmen performed extraordinary work. We are proud to have learned from their legacy — and today we are able to transfer that knowledge and expertise into the modern styles requested by our clients.
We also supply ottomans where desired. An ottoman makes a practical footrest and transforms the armchair into a true oasis of relaxation — perfect even for watching a film.
We would be delighted to guide you through the world of armchairs, show you what it feels like to sit in a truly high-quality armchair, and create pieces in the design that suits you most. Visit us and experience it for yourself.
